Randy Johnson represents the 5th District of Hennepin County government in Minnesota. Hennepin County is the largest of Minnesota's 87 counties in population, budget and estimated value. Hennepin County's population is 1.1 million, which is 21 percent of the state's total population, and about one third of the population of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Minneapolis is the county seat.〔(Hennepin County Map and Information )〕 Johnson, a member of the County Board since 1979, represents all or portions of the suburban cities of Bloomington, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie and Richfield.〔(Randy Johnson Biography )〕 Johnson served as chair of the county board of commissioners in 2008.
